SFC Daus was born and raised on the outskirts of Dayton, Ohio. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Wright State University, Masters degree in Microbiology from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, and Doctorate degree in Public Health-Epidemiology from Walden University.

After 20 years working as a medical research assistant in the civilian sector, SFC Daus entered the US Army on his 40th birthday as a Biological Sciences Research Assistant (68KP9) continuing his research career for the Army at Naval Station Great Lakes North Chicago, IL.

Previous assignments include Global Health Engagement Program Manager and Chief Medical Non -Commissioned Officer of Clinical Operations, 30th Medical Brigade, Sembach, Germany; Operations Coordinator for the Defense Attaché Office at the US Embassies in Bamako, Mali and Abuja, Nigeria; Medical Student Coordinator, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany; Executive Assistant, Regional Health Command Europe, Sembach, Germany.

His awards include recognition from the AFRICOM Commander, General Townsend, for outstanding achievement while serving in Western Africa, the Presidential Coin presented by Congressional Delegation on behalf of President Trump for exceptional service, Joint Service Commendation from the Defense Intelligence Agency, Letters of Appreciation from Senior Defense Attachés in Ghana, Mali, Nigeria, Niger, Senegal, and Ivory Coast for critical mission assistance, and Certificate of Appreciation from Spanish and NATO partners for medical training planning.

SFC Daus is married to Alita Bohol and they enjoy hiking, traveling, volunteering in the community, exploring the world, and experiencing new cultures, people and food. They proudly boast a country count of 49!
